Integrating a Multitude of Talents and Strengths

Cancer is the most complex medical challenge facing our society. It is not a single disease. Rather, it is a biological process that has many manifestations and impacts. Many factors drive uncontrolled cell growth, which may attack the body in different ways. Since there are many types of cancer and a variety of causes, The University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC) is committed to developing solutions covering the full range of cancer types and serving the individual needs of each patient.

The challenges are enormous. Consequently, the UCCCC has developed a multifaceted strategy designed to attack the disease from various angles and leverage a wealth of expertise and resources. It is a cooperative endeavor that integrates the innovative efforts of about 210 talented and knowledgeable scientists and clinicians.
