Dr. Spitz has conducted innovative molecular and genetic epidemiologic research that helped propel the cancer prevention program at MD Anderson to international prominence. Her research focus is on inter-individual variation in susceptibility to the development of tobacco-related cancers and the construction of risk models to identify high-risk subgroups of smokers.
