The University of Chicago is home to more Nobel Laureates than any other university and has many of the best biological sciences departments in the nation. The University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center has extraordinary resources with which to develop and apply innovative approaches to performing research and improving healthcare.
Our members have received numerous awards for their research efforts, and their work is consistently published in high-profile publications. While we are proud of these accomplishments, we also recognize the need to continuously push the envelope and, through cooperative, multidisciplinary initiatives, support innovative and unique research opportunities.
To this end, Comprehensive Cancer Center investigators are organized into six integrated scientific programs. Each program focuses on promising research paths. At the same time, our Center emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaborations that integrate programmatic areas. Many of our research projects take advantage of resources throughout the university, the University of Chicago Medicine, and other scientific and medical communities.
